RSPCA award

By Annie O'brien

Gordon Prentice was awarded the RSPCA Bronze medal for Gallantry. After the 1953 floods he spent three days collecting up cats, dogs and other animals found loose or lost in Tilbury. These are photos of the medal that was awarded to him.

The photo of Gordon Prentice shows him when serving with Fleet Air Arm in 1944

I have found one of these medals in a collection of family medals. The medal i have has the same pictures on it as this one but ribbon is blue and yellow stripes, where as yours looks blue and white. Is there any way I can find out the age as I have no idea at present who the person is that is named on the back. Thanks
