I have just noticed that the station clock on the 1935 picture and the 1950 picture are showing exactly the same time 11.35. What a coincidence!

I think John is right..that is definitely a festival of Britain flag, held in London through the summer of 1951..so it could have been Tilbury Riverside Stations way of celebrating
