I group of us while still at school in about 1960, started the TILBURY SHIP SOCIETY as we were all very interested in shipping. The society grew in membership and we started ship visits in Tilbury Docks, Royal Docks and Southampton. We issued the TILBURY MARITIME NEWS monthly up to at least 1972. After that we all seemed to go our different ways JACK
