The first picture is of a painting of Tilbury B Power Station during its construction period. The south chimney appears to be complete but the north chimney has yet to be started. Tilbury A Power Station can be seen in the background.
This picture hung for many years in the carpenter’s workshop. Does anybody that was on the site during construction remember the painting and who painted it?
The second picture is a photo of the power station at a similar stage of its construction taken from a slightly different viewpoint. In this picture construction of the south chimney has not yet been completed.

I worked for Balfour beatty during the construction of Tilbury B and believe the two chimney’s were built by Kier,s.
Hi, does anyone know who built the chimneys at Tilbury?
As a apprentice with GEC/CA Parsons, I worked for about 6 mths helping to install Turbines. I was then transfered to Kingsnorth. Happy days.
Here is a photo of the site now. I spent many working days with the engineers here and Tilbury A. Does anyone know of the site’s future? JACK WILLIS.
